Health and Safety is Our Priority

As we open our in-person summer programming, the safety of participants and staff is our primary concern. Our programs will adhere to guidelines from the CDC and St. Louis County.  This will include the use of personal protective equipment and cleaning/sanitation supplies as required.  Learn more about our health and safety plans.

If demand for our programs increases throughout the summer, we are committed to remaining flexible and expanding our offerings as much as possible to meet the needs and interests of families.  While our programs this summer will look different than in years past, we are committed to providing the best experience possible.  We look forward to seeing you online or in-person in a summer program soon!

May 22, 2020

Today St. Louis County released guidelines for summer camps.  With this guidance, we are now working through the process of revising our summer program schedule.  We are planning to begin programs on June 15.  Please see below for an important update.

Summer Programs Scheduled June 1-14

  • One-time or One-Week Programs: If you are currently registered for an in-person summer camp scheduled to take place between June 1-14, that program is being canceled.  You will receive a credit that can be applied towards a future Community Ed program.  If you do not plan to register for any future Community Ed programs, please email us at info@prcommunityed.org for a refund.

  • Multi-Week Programs: If you are currently registered for a multi-week, in-person summer program that is scheduled to start between June 1-14, we will be in touch in the next week regarding reschedule dates.  If a program is not able to be rescheduled you will receive a credit that can be applied towards a future Community Ed program.

Information About Summer Programs Starting June 15 and Beyond

  • Our revised summer program schedule will include a variety of online and in-person programs.

  • We are currently in the process of finalizing our revised schedule of art, enrichment and outdoor education summer programs.  We are still waiting for guidelines from St. Louis county regarding operation of pools and athletics.  Once we have that information, we will determine our aquatic and sports offerings.

  • Summer program details and registration will be available starting the week of June 1 (exact date TBD).  We will send out an email and post on our website as soon as the information is ready.

Health and Safety is Our Priority

As we open our summer programming, the safety of participants and staff is our primary concern. Our programs will adhere to guidelines from the CDC and St. Louis County.  This will include the use of personal protective equipment and cleaning/sanitation supplies as required. More details will be shared as our summer program schedule is finalized.

If demand for our programs increases throughout the summer, we are committed to remaining flexible and expanding our offerings as much as possible to meet the needs and interests of families.  While our programs this summer will look different than in years past, we are committed to providing the best experience possible.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue to navigate through these unprecedented times.  We look forward to seeing you online or in-person in a summer program soon!

Summer Registration Update: We are currently awaiting additional guidance from St. Louis County regarding a timeline that could allow for our summer programs to open. We anticipate a change to the schedule and format for many of these programs in order for us to effectively deliver them in accordance with health and safety guidelines. As a result, we are suspending our summer registration and will re-open registration as soon as we are able to finalize our revised summer program schedule and offerings. Once our revised schedule is finalized, we will provide information on how individuals will be able to confirm their current registration, transfer to a new program or receive a credit or refund.  While our programs this summer will look different than in years past, we are committed to providing the best experience possible.

April 9, 2020

As you may be aware, today it was announced by the Governor that all Missouri schools, including Parkway and Rockwood, will remain closed through the end of this school year.

As a result, all Community Ed spring programs for youth, families and adults are canceled.

We will provide an update by the end of next week (April 16) regarding the issuing of credits or refunds for spring programs that had not already been canceled.

Please note: A decision regarding the status of summer programs has not been made at this time.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work our way through these unprecedented circumstances.

Dear Parkway-Rockwood Community Ed Participants,

The safety of those who participate in Community Ed programs is our highest concern.  This week both Parkway and Rockwood School Districts provided updates to the community regarding developments related to potential cases of COVID-19 coronavirus in St. Louis County.  Here you can find information on steps being taken to ensure the safety of those participating in activities within school facilities, including Community Ed participants:

It is important to note that at this time, St. Louis County Department of Public Health officials do not recommend closing schools.  Both Parkway and Rockwood will continue relying on health experts to provide guidance going forward.  We will be sure to share additional information with Community Ed participants as it becomes available.

In the meantime, we advise Community Ed participants to stay home when they are sick, wash their hands frequently with soap and warm water, and cover their coughs and sneezes.

If you have questions, contact our office at 636-891-6644 or call the St. Louis County Department of Public Health 24-hour hotline at 314-615-2660.
